Työsuojeludirektoraattis

Työsuojeludirektoraatti, often abbreviated as Työsuojeludirektoraatti, was a Finnish government agency responsible for overseeing occupational safety and health. Its primary role was to ensure the implementation of legislation related to working conditions, workplace safety, and the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases. The agency worked to promote a safe and healthy working environment for all employees in Finland.

The Työsuojeludirektoraatti's activities included inspection and supervision of workplaces, providing guidance and information to employers and employees, and developing occupational safety and health policies. It also played a role in research and development related to occupational health and safety. The agency was part of the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.

In 2010, the Työsuojeludirektoraatti was merged with other related entities to form the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (Työterveyslaitos) and the Regional State Administrative Agencies (Aluehallintovirastot). This restructuring aimed to streamline the provision of occupational safety and health services and to create a more integrated approach to workplace well-being. While the agency itself no longer exists under its original name, its functions and responsibilities continue to be carried out by its successor organizations.
