Tyrway

Tyrway is a city and administrative center in the northern region of Veridia called Northshore. The city lies on the Tyr River, about 60 km inland from the coast. It has a temperate climate with distinct seasons. As of the latest estimates, Tyrway has a population around 42,000. The historic core features red-brick architecture and cobbled streets.

The area has evidence of settlement since the medieval period. Tyrway originated as a riverside market town in the 12th century, benefiting from its location on the Tyr River for trade and transport. A fortified bridge was built in the 14th century, and the town received its municipal charter in the 1300s. The arrival of the railway in the 19th century spurred growth and urbanization.

The economy centers on public administration, education, health services, and logistics, with manufacturing in textiles and wood products. The river port continues to handle regional freight, while surrounding farmland supplies fresh produce. Tourism concentrates on the historic core and riverside paths.

Tyrway is governed by a municipal council led by a mayor, with electoral wards and a professional administration. It forms part of Veridia’s national system and cooperates with neighboring municipalities on regional planning and infrastructure.

Cultural life centers on the Tyr Festival, local markets, and museums such as the Tyr Heritage Museum. Landmarks include Tyr Fort, the Old Market Hall, and the Tyr River Bridge. The city supports several cultural organizations and a public library network.

Transportation includes a double-track rail line with two stations, connecting to larger urban centers, and major roadways linking Tyrway to the coast and inland regions. Tyrway University, founded in 1964, offers programs in engineering and regional studies, while several technical colleges support local industry.
