Tweeder

Tweeder is a term that emerged in online communities, particularly within forums and social media platforms, to describe a specific type of online interaction. It refers to a person who frequently posts or comments on topics they have little to no knowledge about, often with an air of overconfidence. This behavior is characterized by making broad, unsubstantiated claims, engaging in debates without a solid grasp of the subject matter, and sometimes displaying a dismissive attitude towards those who possess genuine expertise.

The term is generally used in a pejorative or critical sense, highlighting the frustration felt by community members when discussions are derailed or cluttered by misinformation. A tweeder might engage in what is sometimes called "mansplaining," but the term is not gender-specific. The core of "tweeding" is the performance of knowledge rather than the actual possession of it, often driven by a desire to be heard or to appear knowledgeable. It can be seen as a byproduct of the ease with which anyone can publish opinions online, regardless of their factual basis.
