Tumorengroei
Tumorengroei refers to the uncontrolled and abnormal proliferation of cells within the body, leading to the formation of a tumor. This process is a hallmark of cancer, although not all tumors are malignant. Tumors can be classified as benign or malignant. Benign tumors are localized, do not spread to other parts of the body, and are generally not life-threatening. Malignant tumors, or cancers, are invasive and have the ability to metastasize, meaning they can spread to distant sites through the bloodstream or lymphatic system.
The growth of a tumor is driven by genetic mutations that disrupt the normal cell cycle regulation.
