Tulostoma
Tulostoma is a genus of fungi in the order Agaricales, commonly known as stalked puffballs. Species produce conspicuously stalked fruiting bodies bearing a globose to ovoid gleba-bearing head on the top of a slender stalk. The peridium encloses a spore mass (gleba) that is initially white or pale and darkens to brown as spores mature. The stalk is typically rigid and can be several centimeters to decimeters tall, elevating the gleba above the substrate to facilitate spore dispersal.
