Tuentapisteet

Tuentapisteet, commonly known as "Tuesdays" in Finnish, refers to a series of public art installations and events held in various locations across Finland. The project, initiated in 2013 by artist and curator Jussi Koitela, aims to transform ordinary urban spaces into temporary art exhibitions, fostering community engagement and cultural enrichment.

Each Tuesday, a different public space—such as a park, square, or street—is selected as the venue for the event. Artists, both established and emerging, are invited to create site-specific installations that reflect local themes, histories, or social issues. These works often incorporate interactive elements, encouraging passersby to engage directly with the art. The installations are typically temporary, lasting only for the duration of the event, though some may remain visible for a short period afterward.

Tuentapisteet operates on a decentralized model, with local organizers and volunteers coordinating the events in their respective cities. The project emphasizes accessibility, aiming to make art experiences available to a broad audience, including children and families. Many installations are free to attend, further promoting inclusivity.
