Trükisilindreid

Trükisilindreid, or printing cylinders, are essential components in various industrial printing processes, most notably in rotogravure and flexographic printing. These cylinders are cylindrical in shape and are typically made of metal, often steel or aluminum, with a copper or polymer coating depending on the printing method. The surface of the trükisilinder is engraved or etched with the image or text to be printed.

In rotogravure printing, the image is etched into the cylinder's surface as a series of tiny cells or wells. These cells are filled with ink, and excess ink is scraped off by a doctor blade. As the substrate passes over the inked cylinder, ink is transferred from the cells to the material. In flexographic printing, the image is raised on a flexible printing plate that is mounted onto a cylinder. Ink is applied to the raised image, which then transfers to the substrate.
