Trykktransduksjon

Trykktransduksjon, also known as pressure transduction, is the process by which physical pressure is converted into another form of energy, typically an electrical signal. This phenomenon is fundamental to the operation of many sensors and devices used across various scientific and engineering fields. The core principle involves a material or structure that changes its physical properties in response to applied pressure. This change can then be measured or detected, providing information about the magnitude or location of the pressure.

Common mechanisms of trykktransduksjon include piezoelectricity, where certain crystals generate an electrical charge when subjected to mechanical stress. Another mechanism is piezoresistance, where the electrical resistance of a material changes under pressure. Capacitive pressure sensors work by altering the capacitance between two plates due to pressure-induced deformation. Inductive and optical methods also exist, utilizing changes in magnetic flux or light properties respectively as pressure varies.
