The strategy typically involves using technical indicators and charting tools to identify trends. Common indicators include moving averages, which help to smooth out price data and identify the general direction of a trend, and relative strength index (RSI), which measures the speed and change of price movements. When a trend is identified, investors will buy assets that are trending upwards (long positions) and sell assets that are trending downwards (short positions).
