Trendelenburgasennot
Trendelenburgasennot, also known as Trendelenburg's sign, is a clinical sign used to assess the stability of the pelvis. It is named after the German surgeon Friedrich Trendelenburg. The test involves the patient lying on their back with their legs extended and the examiner applying gentle pressure to the patient's lower back. If the pelvis is unstable, the patient's hips will drop on the side where pressure is applied, indicating a positive Trendelenburg sign. This sign is often associated with pelvic instability, which can be caused by various conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic floor dysfunction, or hip dysplasia. The test is simple to perform and can be a useful tool for diagnosing and monitoring pelvic instability. However, it should be interpreted with caution, as a positive Trendelenburg sign does not always indicate a problem, and other tests may be necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
