Trematosaurus

Trematosaurus is an extinct genus of temnospondyl amphibian that lived during the Triassic period. These semi-aquatic creatures were part of a diverse group of amphibians that survived the Permian-Triassic extinction event and flourished in the early Mesozoic. Trematosaurus is known from fossil remains found in Europe and North Africa, suggesting a wide distribution across the ancient supercontinent Pangea.

The genus is characterized by its broad, flattened skull and relatively large eyes, indicating it was likely a predatory animal that hunted in freshwater environments.
