TransLink
TransLink, officially known as TransLink, The Greater Vancouver Transportation Authority, is the regional transportation authority for Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is responsible for planning, financing, and coordinating public transit services across the region and works to integrate networks that include buses, light rapid transit, and sea connections.
The authority was established by the Government of British Columbia in 1999. It operates under a two-tier
TransLink oversees a multi-modal network that includes bus services, the SkyTrain rapid transit system, and the
Fare collection is managed through the Compass Card system, with stored-value smart cards and other payment
Major expansions have included the Canada Line, which opened in 2009, and the Evergreen Extension to Coquitlam
