Traeríais

Traeríais is the second-person plural form of the conditional simple mood of the Spanish verb traer, meaning “you all would bring.” It expresses a hypothetical action in the present or future from a past perspective, or a polite suggestion in a conditional sense. The form comes from the infinitive traer plus the conditional endings.

Conjugation in the conditional (present) for traer:

yo traería, tú traerías, él/ella/usted traería, nosotros traeríamos, vosotros traeríais, ellos/ellas/ustedes traerían. The stem remains traer- and the ending for vosotros is -íais, with the accent to indicate the correct stress.

Usage and examples:

- ¿Qué traeríais si os invitaran a la cena? (What would you all bring if you were invited to the dinner?)

- Si tuviera que elegir, traeríais lo necesario y dejaríais el resto. (If I had to choose, you all would bring what’s necessary and leave the rest.)

The form is commonly found in Spain where the vosotros form is standard; in Latin America, igual meaning would typically be expressed with traerían or with ustedes traerían.

Notes:

Traer is irregular in other tenses and moods, but in the conditional the stem remains traer- with the regular conditional endings. Traeríais should not be confused with forms of the imperfect subjunctive (for example, trajerais) or with the preterite forms, which are constructed differently.
