Timelocalized is a term used in software engineering to describe a method of representing date and time information so that it remains meaningful across different geographic locales. It refers to the practice of storing a moment in a universal, unambiguous form while presenting it in a user's local time zone. The canonical representation is typically UTC, with the local time equivalent derived from the user's time zone and daylight saving rules.

Implementation often relies on time zone databases such as the IANA tz database or equivalent libraries. In timelocalized systems, operations such as sorting, comparison, and arithmetic are performed on the universal time, ensuring consistency, while display layers convert to local time for user-facing interfaces. This approach avoids ambiguities associated with wall-clock times and supports accurate scheduling, logging, and auditing across regions.

Benefits include predictable cross-region behavior, correct handling of daylight saving time, and clearer audit trails.
