TiltShiftObjektive, also known as tilt-shift lenses, are specialized photographic lenses that offer unique creative control over perspective and focus. These lenses are characterized by their ability to tilt and shift the lens elements independently of the camera body. The tilt function allows the photographer to control the plane of focus, extending or altering it in a way that is not possible with conventional lenses. This can be used to achieve an extended depth of field, where more of the scene appears sharp, or to selectively blur areas of the image. The shift function allows the lens to be moved parallel to the image sensor. This is particularly useful in architectural photography to correct converging vertical lines that occur when photographing tall buildings from below. By shifting the lens upwards, these lines can be made to appear parallel, resulting in a more natural perspective. This effect is often colloquially referred to as creating a "miniature effect" when applied to landscapes, as the selective focus mimics the shallow depth of field found in macro photography, making real-world scenes resemble toy models.
