Tilannevälttelynä, often translated as situational avoidance, is a psychological concept referring to a pattern of behavior where individuals actively steer clear of situations, people, or environments that are perceived as potentially triggering anxiety, distress, or negative emotions. This avoidance is not a single event but rather a recurring strategy employed to maintain a sense of emotional equilibrium or to prevent anticipated negative outcomes.
