Tiivistyssäiliöt

Tiivistyssäiliöt, often translated as condensation tanks or drain tanks, are components found in various HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems, refrigeration units, and industrial processes. Their primary function is to collect and store condensate, which is water that forms when warm, moist air comes into contact with a colder surface.

In air conditioning systems, evaporator coils cool the air, causing moisture in the air to condense on the coils. This condensate then needs to be drained away to prevent water damage and maintain system efficiency. The tiivistyssäiliö receives this water from a drain line. Once the tank fills to a certain level, it typically activates a float switch or a sensor. This switch can then trigger a pump (if it's a condensate pump system) to discharge the water to a drain or sewer, or it may simply indicate that the tank needs manual emptying.

In refrigeration, similar condensation occurs on cold evaporator plates. In industrial processes, they might be used to collect condensed steam or other process liquids.

Regular maintenance, including cleaning and checking for blockages, is important to ensure proper function and prevent water overflow or system malfunctions.
