Thermoirreversible processes refer to physical or chemical changes that cannot be reversed to return to their original state without additional external intervention. These processes are distinct from reversible processes, which can return to their initial conditions by simply reversing the conditions applied to them. Thermoirreversibility often arises due to entropy increases, energy dissipation, or structural changes that make the system unable to return to its prior state spontaneously.
