Thermographyis

Thermographyis is a non-invasive medical imaging technique that detects infrared radiation emitted by the body. This radiation is then converted into a visual image, often called a thermogram, which displays temperature variations across the skin surface. Areas of increased blood flow, such as inflammation or infection, typically appear warmer and are depicted as brighter colors, while areas with reduced blood flow or injury may appear cooler and are shown in darker colors. Thermographyis works by using a specialized infrared camera that is sensitive to the heat emitted by the body. The images produced are not anatomical like X-rays or ultrasounds but rather represent the thermal patterns of the body. It is often used as a complementary diagnostic tool, meaning it is used in conjunction with other medical tests. Applications of thermographyis include the detection of breast cancer, assessment of circulatory problems, evaluation of inflammatory conditions like arthritis, and monitoring of nerve function. The technique is generally considered safe and does not involve radiation exposure. However, its diagnostic accuracy can be influenced by external factors such as ambient temperature and recent physical activity.
