Telecommunication infrastructures underpin finance, education, transportation, and emergency services.

Challenges include ensuring security and privacy, managing spectrum rights, achieving universal access, and maintaining critical infrastructure resilience. Regulation varies by country but typically covers spectrum licensing, interconnection, net neutrality, and consumer protection. Ongoing trends emphasize higher speeds, lower latency, network virtualization, and sustainable deployment.
