Technoelitist

Technoelitist is a term used to describe individuals or groups who believe that technological advancement and its subsequent societal impact should be primarily directed by a select group of experts or highly skilled individuals. This viewpoint often stems from a conviction that only those with deep technical understanding can make sound decisions regarding the development and deployment of new technologies, ensuring they are used for the perceived greater good.

Proponents of technoelitisim may argue that widespread public participation in technological decision-making can lead to inefficiencies, emotional biases, or the adoption of suboptimal solutions. They might point to the complexity of modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence, genetic engineering, or advanced computing, as evidence that only a specialized few can truly grasp the implications and potential benefits or risks.
