Taricjärjestelmä, often referred to as TARIC, is the integrated tariff system of the European Union. It is a comprehensive database that combines the EU's external and internal trade tariff measures. The primary purpose of TARIC is to ensure that EU trade regulations are applied uniformly across all member states.

The system contains information on all trade measures applicable to goods imported into the EU and, in some cases, goods exported from the EU. This includes customs duties, quantitative restrictions, and other import or export controls. By consolidating this information, TARIC provides a single point of access for traders, customs authorities, and other stakeholders.

Each product is assigned a specific code, the TARIC code, which is based on the Harmonized System (HS) nomenclature. This code identifies the product and determines the applicable trade measures. The TARIC code is essential for completing customs declarations and ensuring compliance with EU trade law.

The European Commission, in conjunction with national customs administrations of the member states, is responsible for managing and updating the TARIC system. This ensures that the database reflects the latest trade policies, agreements, and regulations. The availability of TARIC facilitates smoother and more transparent international trade within and with the European Union.
