Tantalilla

Tantalilla is a genus of small South American plants belonging to the family Asteraceae. These plants are typically found in the high-altitude grasslands and páramo ecosystems of the Andes mountains, particularly in Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador. The genus name "Tantalilla" is thought to be a diminutive of the Greek god Tantalus, possibly alluding to the plants' elusive nature or their preference for inaccessible habitats.

The species within Tantalilla are generally herbaceous perennials, characterized by their low-growing habit and often rosette-forming leaves.
