Tamsweg

Tamsweg is a municipality and the capital of the Tamsweg district in the Austrian state of Salzburg. It is located in the Lungau region of the Alps, in the southern part of the state. The town lies at the confluence of the rivers Mur and Tamsweg, surrounded by mountains.

Historically, Tamsweg has been a significant regional center, particularly known for its market rights dating back to the Middle Ages.
