Taipa

Taipa is an island and district in Macau, a Special Administrative Region of China. It comprises Taipa Island and the Cotai reclamation area, a long strip of land created by dredging and reclamation that links Taipa with Coloane. The district is connected to the Macau Peninsula by several bridges and to Coloane by causeways; the Cotai Strip, a major entertainment and resort zone, sits on reclaimed land between Taipa and Coloane.

Historically a fishing village with Portuguese influence, Taipa developed under colonial governance into a commercial settlement.

Taipa Village preserves a historic core with narrow streets, traditional houses, and temples, reflecting a blend

Today, Taipa is a mixed district where tourism, hospitality, and residential life coexist. The Macau International
