Tagarattaga

Tagarattaga is a traditional form of folk music and dance originating from the southern Indian state of Karnataka. The term "tagarattaga" is derived from the Kannada language, where "tagara" refers to a traditional percussion instrument, and "attaga" means "to play." This genre is deeply rooted in rural Karnataka and is often associated with agricultural festivals, weddings, and community celebrations.

The music typically features a lively rhythm driven by the tagara, a pair of small hand drums, accompanied by other instruments such as the veena (a string instrument), flute, or harmonium.
