Sängynjenkaisten

Sängynjenkaisten is a Finnish term that translates to "bedbugs" in English. These small, nocturnal, parasitic insects are known for feeding on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals. Bedbugs belong to the order Hemiptera and are commonly found in human dwellings, particularly in bedrooms, hence their name.

Adult bedbugs are typically reddish-brown in color, oval-shaped, and flattened. They are about the size of an apple seed. While they can fly, they are not strong flyers and tend to crawl. Their flattened bodies allow them to hide in narrow crevices, such as those found in mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and even cracks in walls.

Bedbug infestations are often difficult to eradicate and can cause significant discomfort. Their bites, while usually not medically dangerous, can lead to itchy welts and allergic reactions in some individuals.
