These puzzles consist of a 9x9 grid divided into nine 3x3 subgrids, where the goal is to fill each cell with digits 1-9 such that every row, column, and subgrid contains no repeated digits.

Common techniques include scanning (identifying cells with only one possible digit by eliminating options from rows, columns, and subgrids), elimination (using existing numbers to rule out candidates in adjacent cells), and advanced patterns like hidden singles (a single candidate in a cell) or naked pairs (two cells in a subgrid with identical candidate sets). These methods help systematically reduce possibilities until the puzzle is solved.
