Szkennálás

Szkennálás is a Hungarian term that broadly refers to the process of capturing a physical object or document and converting it into a digital format. The most common form of szkenntálás involves using a scanner, a device that shines light onto a surface and records the reflected light. This process captures the visual information of the object.

Document scanners are designed for high-volume paper scanning, often featuring automatic document feeders. Book scanners are specialized for digitizing books without damaging the spines. 3D scanners, on the other hand, capture the three-dimensional shape of an object, creating a digital model rather than a flat image.

The output of szkenntálás is typically an image file in formats such as JPEG, PNG, or TIFF. For documents, optical character recognition (OCR) software can be employed to convert the scanned image into editable text, making the content searchable and easier to manipulate.
