Számlázó

Számlázó is a Hungarian term that can refer to a person who issues invoices or to a tool used to generate and send invoices. The word derives from számla (invoice) and the suffix -ző, indicating an agent. In business practice, a számlázó handles the billing cycle: creating invoices, listing goods or services, applying prices and taxes, and distributing the invoices to customers, often with payment terms and due dates. The role may be performed manually on paper or with computer software.

Számlázó software, or számlázó rendszerek, automate the billing process. Typical features include an adjustable invoice template, a database of customers and products or services, automatic tax calculation, handling of different currencies, support for recurring invoices, and the ability to send invoices by email or via electronic formats. Many systems also provide status tracking (sent, opened, paid), reminders for overdue payments, and export options for accounting software. Cloud-based platforms are common, but on-premise versions exist, and some programs integrate with broader ERP or accounting suites.

Legal and regulatory context: In Hungary, invoices must comply with tax authority requirements, including valid identifiers, date, description, taxed amounts, and VAT information. Software used for invoicing may be configured to generate data suitable for VAT reporting and NAV submissions, and to support electronic invoicing where applicable. The term covers both individual invoicing work and commercial software solutions.
