Syöpäkasvaimien

Syöpäkasvaimet, or malignant tumors, are abnormal growths of cells that have the potential to invade surrounding tissues and spread to other parts of the body through metastasis. Unlike benign tumors, which are typically localized and do not spread, malignant tumors are characterized by uncontrolled cell proliferation and a loss of normal cellular function. The development of cancer is a complex process involving genetic mutations that disrupt the cell cycle regulation, leading to cells that divide and grow without regard for normal bodily controls.

These abnormal cells can arise from virtually any cell type in the body, leading to a wide variety of cancers, such as lung cancer, breast cancer, and leukemia. The specific characteristics and behavior of a syöpäkasvain depend on the cell type from which it originates and the genetic alterations it has acquired. Diagnosis often involves medical imaging, biopsies, and laboratory tests to identify the presence, type, and stage of the tumor.
