Swedishsubdivision

Swedishsubdivision is a term that can refer to various aspects of Sweden's administrative or geographical divisions. Historically, Sweden has been divided into provinces (landskap), which are primarily cultural and historical regions with no administrative function today. These provinces are still commonly used to identify regions and dialects.

In terms of modern administration, Sweden is divided into counties (län). These counties serve as the highest level of regional government, responsible for public services such as healthcare, public transport, and regional planning. Each county is headed by a County Administrative Board, appointed by the government, and a County Council, which is an elected regional political body.
