The Sudetes, known in Czech as Sudety and in Polish as Sudety, is a mountain range in Central Europe that forms a major border region between Poland and the Czech Republic, with smaller extensions into Germany. The range runs in a broad arc across the border area and comprises various subranges. Its highest peak is Sněžka (Śnieżka), at 1,603 meters, located in the Czech portion of the range, commonly referred to as the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše).
