Subtropenlagen

Subtropenlagen, also known as subtropical regions, are climatic zones located between the tropical and temperate zones on Earth. These regions typically experience warm to hot temperatures year-round, with distinct seasonal variations compared to the equatorial tropics. Subtropenlagen are characterized by their unique weather patterns, which include mild winters and hot, humid summers, often influenced by ocean currents and atmospheric circulation.

Geographically, subtropical regions are found on the eastern sides of continents, such as the southeastern United States, parts of southern Europe, southern Australia, southern Africa, and the southern tip of South America. They also extend into coastal areas of the western sides of continents, such as parts of California, Chile, and South Africa. The Mediterranean climate is a well-known subtype of subtropical climate, featuring dry summers and wet winters.

Subtropenlagen support diverse ecosystems, including savannas, shrublands, and forests, depending on precipitation levels. Human settlements in these areas often thrive due to the favorable climate, which supports agriculture, particularly the cultivation of citrus fruits, grapes, and other temperate crops.
