Subramanya is a name most closely associated with the Hindu god Murugan, also known as Kartikeya, Shanmukha, or Skanda. Beyond this temple, many other Subramanya/Murugan temples exist across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and other states, including the famous Palani and Tiruchendur shrines in Tamil Nadu.
