Sublimatsioonitrükki

Sublimatsioonitrükk is a digital printing technique that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as polyester fabric, plastic, or other substrates. The process begins with printing a design onto special sublimation paper using sublimation inks. These inks are unique in that they are in a solid state at room temperature and do not become liquid when heated. Instead, they turn directly into a gas through a process called sublimation.

When the sublimation paper is placed on the substrate and subjected to heat (typically between 180-200°C) and pressure, the sublimation inks gasify. This gaseous ink then penetrates the fibers or surface of the substrate, becoming permanently embedded within it. As the material cools, the ink returns to a solid state, creating a vibrant, durable, and full-color print.

Sublimatsioonitrükk is known for producing high-quality, fade-resistant images with excellent detail and a wide color gamut. It is particularly popular for printing on textiles like sportswear, flags, and banners, as well as for promotional products like mugs, phone cases, and mousepads. The resulting prints are soft to the touch as the ink becomes part of the material itself, unlike screen printing where ink sits on top. This method requires specific polyester-based materials or coatings for the dye to adhere properly.
