Su27K

The Su-27K, also known by its NATO reporting name Flanker-D, is a carrier-based heavy fighter aircraft developed by Sukhoi Design Bureau for the Soviet Navy. It is a derivative of the land-based Su-27 Flanker, modified for naval operations. The development began in the early 1980s, with the first flight occurring in August 1987.

Key modifications for carrier operations include a strengthened airframe, a larger wing area for better low-speed handling, folding wings, a tailhook for arrested landings, and a more robust landing gear.
