Studiekompetencer

Studiekompetencer is a term used in Danish and Norwegian educational contexts to describe the set of competences that enable a student to engage effectively in academic study and to succeed in higher education. The concept encompasses cognitive, methodological and social skills needed to learn, research and communicate in an academic environment. It is often used in discussions of admissions criteria, curriculum design, and student support, with the aim of ensuring that entrants can undertake university studies or other higher-education programs.

Core components commonly associated with studiekompetencer include information literacy (the ability to locate, evaluate and use sources), critical thinking and analytical reasoning, academic writing and citation, literacy in the host language, numeracy and data literacy, learning strategies (planning, time management, self-regulation), study planning and goal setting, and digital competence.
