Strækningsmåling

Strækningsmåling is a mathematical technique used for estimating certain physical quantities of an object, particularly of its shape and dimensions, using the information obtained by photographing or videorecording the object from multiple directions.

The method is based on the principle that the object's shape and dimensions are determined by the way it appears in different projections. By analyzing the changes in an object's shape and appearance from multiple viewpoints, it is possible to calculate its dimensionless shape descriptors such as length, width, and height.

To perform strækningsmåling, a camera or other image capture device is mounted and positioned to capture high-resolution images or videos of the object from a predetermined set of angles and elevations.
