Stabilnosti

Stabilnosti is a term used in many disciplines to describe a system's tendency to resist change or to return to a reference state after a disturbance. In some languages, stabilnosti is a plural or inflected form of stabilnost.

In mathematics and dynamical systems, a state x* is stable if every small perturbation yields trajectories that stay near x*. If trajectories converge toward x* over time, the state is asymptotically stable; if convergence occurs at a rate bounded by an exponential function, it is exponentially stable. Lyapunov functions provide a method to prove stability without solving equations.

In physics and engineering, stability describes how structures or control systems respond to disturbances. Static stability concerns resisting immediate displacement; dynamic stability concerns behavior over time. Buckling, flutter, or oscillations are indicators of instability, while feedback control or damping can restore stability.

In chemistry and materials science, stability refers to resistance to decomposition or reaction under given conditions. Thermodynamic stability means a substance is at lowest free energy, while kinetic stability concerns slow transformation despite thermodynamic imperatives.

In economics and finance, stability refers to the steadiness of prices, exchange rates, and financial systems. Price stability reduces inflation volatility; financial stability relates to resilience against shocks and systemic risk.

Assessing stabilnosti often involves models, simulation, stability criteria such as eigenvalue locations, Lyapunov methods, or energy-based or marginal stability analyses. The concept is central to design, policy, and risk assessment across fields.
