Sprzgem
Sprzgem is a term used in the study of complex systems to describe a class of emergent states that arise when heterogeneous components interact under nonlinear dynamics. A sprzgem state is defined as a stable or semi-stable configuration that cannot be found in any individual subsystem but emerges from the coupling of those subsystems through constrained exchange of energy or information.
Origin and etymology: The term sprzgem was introduced in scholarly discussions of complex adaptive systems in
Characteristics: Sprzgem states typically require heterogeneity among subsystems, nonlinear interaction rules, and a boundary or resource
Applications: Researchers study sprzgem phenomena to understand robustness of networks, design of adaptive algorithms, and modeling
