Spaceportit refers to a concept in space exploration and commercial spaceflight involving the development and operation of spaceports—facilities designed for the launch, landing, and maintenance of spacecraft. The term is not standardized but is often used in discussions about the growing network of spaceports worldwide, particularly those supporting reusable launch vehicles, suborbital tourism, and satellite deployment.

Spaceports serve as critical infrastructure for both government space agencies and private companies. They provide the necessary launch pads, control centers, and support systems for missions ranging from low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite launches to crewed spaceflight. Notable examples include NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, SpaceX’s Starbase in Texas, and the European Spaceport in French Guiana. The rise of commercial spaceflight, exemplified by companies like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic, has accelerated the expansion of spaceport capabilities, including vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) sites for reusable rockets.
