Soolestiks
Soolestiks are a class of semi‑aquatic mammals native to the temperate freshwater systems of the northern hemisphere, particularly in the boreal forests of Canada, Alaska, and Scandinavia. They belong to the order Perissodactyla and are closely related to the tundra hare, sharing a fossil common ancestor that lived approximately 8 million years ago. The species Soolestikus borealis is the most extensively studied, with an average adult length of 1.5 meters and a weight of 40 to 70 kilograms.
