Snavdaki

Snavdaki is a fictional town in the northern highlands of the continent of Aideron, in the world of Nivara. It serves as the administrative center of the Brinmoor district and is the seat of the Snavdaki Council.

The name Snavdaki derives from the local language, with "Snav" meaning stream and the suffix "-daki" indicating a place. Geographically, the town sits at roughly 820 meters above sea level along the Snav River, surrounded by pine forests. The climate is temperate, with wet winters and mild summers that support forestry, agriculture, and outdoor tourism.

Historically, Snavdaki was founded around 1432 by settlers from Merant. It developed as a river trade hub and later expanded through timber harvesting and craft production in the 18th and 19th centuries. The arrival of a railway spur in the early 20th century modernized connections to regional markets, accelerating growth and diversification.

Today, Snavdaki’s economy centers on timber, carpentry, and ceramics, supplemented by small-scale agriculture and tourism. The town hosts a weekly market and serves as a gateway to nearby hiking routes and river viewpoints. Infrastructure includes a road network and a modest rail link to larger urban centers.

Governance is provided by a municipal council of twelve members, led by a mayor, with oversight from the Brinmoor Regional Assembly. Cultural life centers on the annual River Festival in autumn, featuring crafts, music, and boat races. Educational institutions include the Snavdaki Institute of Arts and Crafts and two primary schools.
