Slèite

Slèite is a coastal municipality and port town in the northern Norhaven archipelago in the country of Lyria. It lies on a limestone peninsula that juts into the Sea of Sable, approximately 80 kilometers from the mainland and separated from neighboring isles by shallow channels.

The town experiences a temperate maritime climate, with cool summers and mild winters; average annual rainfall around 1,000–1,200 mm.

Established as a fishing village in the 12th century, Slèite grew around its harbor in the late Middle Ages, gaining town rights in 1837. It played a role in regional trade and shipbuilding.

The municipality has a population of about 6,800 residents. The economy relies on commercial fishing, aquaculture (mussel farming), small-scale manufacturing, and tourism. It hosts a fish market, local crafts, and guided boat tours.

Key landmarks include Slèite Lighthouse, the Old Harbor Warehouse, and the cliff-side Slèite Monastery ruins. Annual events include the Summer Fishermen's Festival and winter markets.

Slèite is governed by a mayor and a council, with a local police and fire service. Transport includes a road bridge to the mainland, regular ferry services to neighboring isles, and a small regional airport in a nearby town. Education comprises primary and secondary schools, a library, and a community center.
