Sloenje is a fictional town in the northern highlands of the realm of Eryndor.

Sloenje lies along the Sloenj River, at an elevation around 240 meters. The surrounding landscape is a mix of conifer forests and pastures, with a temperate climate that brings cool winters and mild summers.

Name and history: The name Sloenje is believed to derive from the ancient Sloen language, meaning “edge of the forest.” The first recorded references appear in medieval charters from the 12th century.

Sloenje developed as a river trade point and agricultural market, with timber and dairy industries shaping its economy. In the modern era it was incorporated into the province of Aldoria.

Demographics and economy: The population is around 3,600 residents. The community speaks Sloenish and a regional dialect; the economy centers on forestry, dairy farming, and small wood-product manufacturing. Tourism attracts visitors to the natural scenery and the town’s harvest festival.

Governance and culture: Governance is a municipal council headed by a mayor. Cultural life centers on an autumn harvest festival, timber-framed architecture, and traditional crafts.

Infrastructure and services: Infrastructure relies on regional roads; the nearest railway is in Brackenford, about 25 kilometers away. Public services include a small clinic and a library. Education comprises one primary and one secondary school.
