Situanalyse

Situanalyse, often used in Danish and other Nordic contexts, is a structured assessment of the current state of a project, organization, or market. It brings together internal factors—such as resources, capabilities, processes, and organizational structure—and external factors—such as market trends, customer needs, competition, regulations, and broader socio-economic conditions. The aim is to create a clear, evidence-based picture that informs strategic decisions and problem framing.

The typical scope includes identifying strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats, stakeholders and their interests, and critical risks. Data may be gathered through interviews, surveys, document reviews, performance metrics, market research, and workshops. The analysis often uses frameworks such as SWOT, PESTLE, or stakeholder mapping, adapted to the context. The output is a concise synthesis that highlights pivotal issues, root causes, and implications for objectives, strategies, and resource allocation.

Applications of situanalyse include strategic planning, project initiation, marketing or service design, and policy development. It serves as a basis for defining goals, selecting priorities, and designing action plans with measurable indicators.
