Sitatunga
The sitatunga, Tragelaphus spekii, is a semi-aquatic antelope found in central Africa. It is also known as the marshbuck. Sitatungas inhabit dense papyrus swamps, marshy clearings, and riparian woodlands. They are characterized by their long, slender legs, widely splayed hooves that help them navigate soft, muddy terrain, and shaggy, water-repellent coats. Males are typically reddish-brown to dark brown, while females are a lighter reddish-brown. Males also possess long, spiraling horns, which are absent in females.
