Sidmouth

Sidmouth is a seaside town and civil parish in the East Devon district of Devon, England. It sits on the south coast at the mouth of the River Sid, within the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The town is about 15 miles southeast of Exeter and is known for its sheltered harbour, long seafront promenade, and access to pebble and sandy beaches backed by cliffs.

The town’s coastline features an esplanade that runs parallel to the sea, with public gardens such as Connaught Gardens overlooking the harbour. The Byes, a meadows and river walk area, follows the stream that flows through the town, providing a pleasant route from the town center to the river and coast. Jacobs Ladder, a steep stairway from the Esplanade to the beach, is a well-known route down to the shore.
