Sicherheitskonforme is a German-language term used to describe products, processes, or systems that conform to applicable safety requirements and standards. It indicates that safety risks have been identified, evaluated, and mitigated through a structured process, and that evidence of safety compliance exists for the item in question.

The concept is applied across sectors such as manufacturing, construction, healthcare, and information technology. In practice, safety conformity relies on normative standards and regulatory frameworks covering various areas of safety, including machinery safety, electrical safety, medical device risk management, and control-system safety. Relevant norms often cited include EN ISO 13849-1 and ISO 12100 for machinery safety, ISO 14971 for medical devices, and ISO/IEC 27001 for information security as part of a broader safety posture. In the European Union, conformity often relates to CE marking and compliance with broader product-safety legislation.

Conformance typically involves a risk assessment, definition of safety requirements, design measures to reduce risk, testing and verification, and the preparation of documentation such as conformity assessments and declarations of conformity. In some cases, third-party conformity assessment by notified bodies is required for specific product classes; in other cases, internal verification and supplier attestations suffice.

Usage: Companies may label products or systems as „sicherheitskonform“ when they can demonstrate compliance with the relevant requirements. The term is evaluative and does not necessarily replace formal certification where such certification is legally mandated.
